Clostridium Botulinum is a bacterium which produces Purified Protein Toxin known as Botox. Botox was approved by FDA to be used in reducing the appearance of wrinkles on the face of men and women.

WHAT IS BOTOX?
It is an injectable drug made from purified protein complex produced by Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium.
It relaxes the fatigued muscles which cause the lines (Wrinkles) to fade, thus giving your face a relaxed and rejuvenated look.
HOW DOES BOTOX TREATMENT WORKS?
When the muscles are injected with BOTOX, it blocks the signals from nerves to the muscles. This in turn relaxes the muscles thus giving a rejuvenated and wrinkle free face.

It starts to be effective within 4 days, becomes effective within 14 days and persists for 3-6 months. It can be repeated no earlier 3 months after the first procedure.
POST TREATMENT
A patient can resume his/her normal daily activities without any disruption. The only precaution that should be taken is to stay away from rubbing or massaging the area that is treated. The muscle and the wrinkle soothe after the treatment.
Are there any potential side effects?
It is safe with minor side effects like localised pain, swelling, headache, crooked smile etc. But these are temporary and will eventually disappear within few days.
